Joe Flacco Becomes Highest Paid QB In NFL History Signing New Contract With Baltimore Ravens.
One month after winning his first Super Bowl and earning MVP Awards for the big game, Joe Flacco has agreed to a new deal with the Baltimore Ravens. The new contract is said to be worth $120.6 million over the next six years as he’ll move into ranks as not only the highest paid current QB, but now the top overall paid of all time.
Saints QB, Drew will now become the second highest paid QB in the NFL as he was getting paid $20M a year after signing his 5-Year/$100M contract last summer. During his 2013 NFL Playoff run, Flacco was virtually perfect during his entire postseason run throwing a career best 1,140 yards, 11 TD’s and no interceptions averaging a QB rating of 117.2.
At the conclusion of the Super Bowl, ramblings started that Joey would leave the Ravens but he declared the night of the winning the game, he would be Raven for life. Now at the age of 28, he’ll be 34 when it’s time to re-up for his next contract and if his play continues similar to his magical 2013 run, he may well become a Raven for life.
With the recent retiring of Ray Lewis, Baltimore’s imminent release of Anquan Boldin and Ed Reed wanting to leave to play with Tom Brady in New England, the Ravens could be in a rebuilding process for a few years to develop and/or bring in talent to surround him with talent once more.
Only 5 years into his NFL career, Flacco already holds the playoff record for most road wins with six, a Super Bowl MVP under his belt & having the best playoff run since Joe Montana; he caps off his year with a new contract. Flacco was almost franchised with the his rookie contract now over which would’ve earned him $14.9M next year but he will officially be back next year as Raven fans know who their QB will be for the season.
