DOUBLE TROUBLE FOR BALTIMORE
It’s bad enough when you lose one of your key players offense, but when you lose two? That’s the case out in Baltimore as the team has lost quarterback Joe Flacco and Justin Forsett for the season.
Forsett was injured in the first quarter on a run on a tackle by defensive tackle Aaron Donald, fracturing his arm and ending his year early. He entered the game as the 10th leading rusher in the NFL and now becomes the second running back to be out for the season.
The Ravens biggest blow came on the game-winning drive, when Flacco went down in the Ravens win against the St. Louis Rams. He injured his knee on the first play of the drive that won them the game thanks to a 47-yard Justin Tucker kick, but he was hobbled on the plays prior to that, handing the ball off and spiking it to set up the field goal. It has now been revealed that he tore his ACL, officially ending his season.
Flacco will have an official MRI on Monday, but first word is that he tore his anterior cruciate ligament and medial collateral ligament.
4th-round rookie Buck Allen will now be taking over the reigns in the backfield for Forsett, while Matt Schaub will replace Flacco, who hasn’t missed a game for Baltimore since 2008.
Ravens best four players – Joe Flacco, Justin Forsett, Steve Smith, Terrell Suggs – now out for the year.
