Bad news for the Wizards

The Washington Wizards were looking like they could escape the second round with an upset over the number one seeded Atlanta Hawks after getting that Game 1 victory, but their chance of pulling it off without John Wall are getting slimmer.

Wall actually injured his wrist in that Game 1 victory and still played even after suffering that big fall in second quarter. By Game 2, he was ruled out and the Wizards suffered their first loss of the playoffs.

Now doctors are saying John has five non-displaced fractures in his left wrist and hand, with the status of his return uncertain for the remainder of the playoffs. Usually, injuries like these take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to heal, but swelling in his hand is preventing an accurate diagnosis as of now. The team will wait another 48 hours for the swelling to go down before they determining his status.

With the series now moving to Washington, the team needs their franchise player more than ever if they want to secure a a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals, but they will need Bradley Beal, Paul Pierce and company to step up, especially in the absence of Wall.
