Johnny Manziel To Make 1st NFL Start Sunday

Johnny Manziel ready to go 0-100 this Sunday!

Following Sunday’s unfortunate loss to the Indianapolis Colts over the weekend, the Cleveland Browns finally gave in and decided to change their starting quarterback. Unlike last week, where the team went back on their word as to who would start, the Browns will now be giving Johnny Manziel his first ever NFL start.

The former Heisman Trophy winner was taken with the 22 overall pick in the NFL Draft and watched from the sidelines most of the season, to grasp the offense. While the team is fighting on its last legs to obtain a playoff spot at 7-6, he’ll be thrown into a major AFC North match-up against division rival Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals are downplaying the impact Manziel could potentially have, even saying they’re expecting Bryan Hoyer to start. The height slur Marvin Lewis said earlier today is something that may bite them this weekend, giving Johnny more incentive to prove himself this season. When Hoyer was benched two weeks ago, Manziel went 5-8 for 63 yards and even scored his first professional touchdown on a 10-yard rush. With Johnny finally getting his big shot, this is definitely one of the games we’ll be paying attention to this weekend.

“You gotta go defend the offense. You don’t defend the player, particularly a midget.” – Bengals Head Coach Marvin Lewis fueling Johnny Manziel before Sunday’s game.
