Josh Freeman Signs With Minnesota Vikings

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New England Patriots

The Josh Freeman saga took another turn late last night, when the young QB decided to sign a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings. This comes after he was surprisingly released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for whom he threw for over 4,000 yards and 27 touchdowns for last season. This year did not start well for Josh, and he was benched for rookie Mike Glennon after starting 0-4, then eventually released.

Only time will tell if Freeman will start for the Vikings, who already have Christian Ponder and Matt Cassell on the roster. The good news for Freeman is that both of those guys have major question marks surrounding them, so he might be blessed with an opportunity at some point this season. Plus, the Vikings aren’t all that bad.
