Another offensive weapon for young Blake Bortles
Julius Thomas is chasing the money this free agency and the highest bidder seems to be the Jacksonville Jaguars. The team is offering him $9 million dollars a year to relocate from Colorado to Florida and sources tell ESPN, he’s expected to sign on the dotted line come Tuesday.
The Oakland Raiders were also one of the big candidates in the tight end sweepstakes, but the Jags may be putting too much money on the table for him to turn down and/or be swayed elsewhere.
Thomas started last year on fire, catching 12 touchdowns through nine games and looked as if he was Peyton Manning‘s favorite target in the red zone. Unfortunately, an ankle injury sidelined him for a few weeks and he didn’t catch another TD for the rest of the season as a result. He ends his tenure in Denver with 1,277 yards and 24 touchdowns in his two years with the Broncos.
Thomas will create matchup headaches for teams if he can stay healthy and seems to be a great addition to that young wide receiver core Blake Bortles already has in Jacksonville.
