Kansas City Royals Steal Game 1 over Los Angeles Angels in ALDS Opener

We officially have ourselves A series people!

48 hours ago, the Kansas City Royals stunned many within the baseball community, pulling off an upset Wild Card victory at home against the Oakland Athletics. Much like their previous affair, Kansas City came into another underdog situation, now facing the league’s best team, the Los Angeles Angels.

October Beisbol extra effort from Mr. Nori Aoki.

Unlike most of the team’s in this year’s post-season, the Royals have the talent and confidence to win the pennant and showed zero signs of fear to Los Angeles. Jason Vargas of the Royals and Angels ace Jered Weaver were the starting pitchers for the first game of the American League Divisional Series.

Don’t worry Lorenzo Cain, Nori Aoki has this one. . . . Again!

While Vargas allowed 2 homers to both Chris Iannetta and David Freese before the 6th inning, surprisingly, he was still on par with Weaver, only giving up 2 runs allowed. The next 6 innings saw multiple defensive jaw droppers from Nori Aoki outshining his fellow outfielder Lorenzo Cain for some web gems diving catches.

Jarrod Dyson’s finally in the post-season & it’s going down!

With the Anaheim crowd getting impatient in the later stages of the game (nearing 10:00 pm local time), the Angels top two sluggers Mike Trout and Albert Pujols were still without a hit the entire game. Kansas finally saw the emergence of their bats return when the Moose, Mike Moustakas blasted a deep home run blast to right field off relief pitcher Fernando Salas to close the game. Los Angeles only has a few hours to map out a gameplan before their 9:37pm meeting later tonight to close out Friday’s 4-game affair of post-season action.
