Kawhi Leonard Could Sit Out Entire Season If He Has to Return to Spurs

A Los Angeles Lakers super team might be happening in the near future. The only question is whether the Lake Show will trade for Kawhi Leonard this season or wait for him to come in free agency in 2019. According to reports, he’s focused on coming to L.A. and joining the team next season.

As we all know, the relationship between Leonard and San Antonio Spurs is beyond repair and things may be even worse than it has been reported in the media.

According to Stephen A. Smith on SportsCenter, he could sit out all next season:

“According to a couple of other executives because of the personality of Kawhi Leonard and what transpired last season they said to me don’t rule out the possibility of Kawhi Leonard sitting out next season before he is willing to come back to the San Antonio Spurs. That is how badly he wants out. That is how badly he wants to remain in LA.”

Apparently, those comments by Tony Parker about his injury really pissed Leonard off, as well as the public talk by Coach Popovich in the media.

If Kawhi does not play next season, that would be huge and very telling on how much he wants to play in L.A. to join forces with LeBron James. Of course, Paul George said the same thing and he stayed in Oklahoma City.
