LaMarcus Aldridge may be the new man in town over in San Antonio, but make no mistake about it, Kawhi Leonard is the future of the Spurs franchise. He’s been playing on another level this season and is very well earning that $90 million contract.
On Monday night against the Portland Trail Blazers, Leonard gave Mason Plumlee something to think about, when turnovers turned into fast break opportunities. A lazy pass by Plumlee was actually what started the whole thing, as Kawhi picked up the loose ball and made his way up court on an outlet to Danny Green, who gave it right back to Leonard for the hammer in Mason’s face.
Kawhi almost ended the game with a double double, leading all Spurs in scoring with 19 points and 9 rebounds.
