Kendrick Lamar Tributes Kobe Bryant in “Fade to Black”

K. Dot visits ESPN to tribute KOBE!

Growing up in Los Angeles, Kendrick Lamar has always looked up to local basketball hero and playground legend, Kobe Bryant. With The Black Mamba gearing up for his final game in less than 48 hours against the Utah Jazz, ESPN called the Compton kid to their Hollywood studios, to put together the latest tribute piece (among a million others) entitled, Fade to Black.

In the video above, the TDE rapper heads west to The Forum in Inglewood, where Kobe first began his career in 1996, to speak on the legendary Lakers impact on the game, culture and his best moments from his 5-championship career. From one LA King to another, watch above as K. Dot explains how Kobe inspired a group of youths not only in the city of angels – but the entire world.
