Following Team USA Play, Faried gets well-deserved extension!
A 5 Year, $60M Extension? Worth it? Without a question! You will have an extremely hard time finding someone that gives more effort on both ends of the court on a nightly basis than the 6-8, 24 year old “Manimal” Faried. As one of the Denver Nuggets most consistent players over the past few seasons, the organization has labeled him and point guard Ty Lawson as the building blocks of the franchise. Heading into only his 4th season averaging 12.6 PPG and 8.6 RPG, he hasn’t even come close to his ceiling – which makes this move slightly genius. There are about 29 other teams that would love to have his energy on their roster.

Head Coach Brian Shaw admitted he has high expectations for both players telling them point blank “You are now franchise players for us, your teammates are expecting you to make the big plays, just be ready day-in and day-out.” That should be no problem for Faried who is coming off a very impressive FIBA campaign, averaging 12.2 PPG and a team leading 7.7 RPG, not to mention countless SportsCenter Top 10 nominee caliber plays throughout the tournament.
