Last night’s game was Kevin Love’s fault..to an extent!
It’s a lot of great teams around the NBA, but only a handful are real contenders. While the Cleveland Cavaliers are destined to finish out the regular season with the best record in the East Conference, they’re still behind the elite level of play we’ve seen thus far from the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs. That was evident last night, when Stephen Curry and company dropped 70 points in the first half and were nearly up 40 points during their Monday night meeting.
Kevin Love took most of the blame from last night’s defeat to the defending champions, but we’re questioning coaching above anything. There was one play before Golden State ran away with the game when LeBron gave Love an outlet pass and Iman Shumpert was in down in the block on the post for an impromptu play. At that point, we immediately decided that was the end of us taking that game serious and transitioned our focus back to TiVo. It’s baffling that David Blatt would diminish Love’s offense productivity to just making him a spot-up jump shooter in the corner.

While Kevin’s defense needs some work, he addressed the team’s loss with reporters and said the team needs to look at themselves in the mirror – beginning with the leader. He even went to say he was he was confused about his exact role with the team, which a championship contender shouldn’t be having these type of issues leading up to mid-way point of the season.
LeBron was more nonchalant about the game, citing that the majority of his teammates have limited post-season experience and looked at the game as regular loss. The big-three collective of King James, Kyrie Irving and Love have spent limited time on the court with each other, due to injuries between themselves. So, the next few months leading up to April will tell the world if they’re ready to dethrone Golden State or San Antonio for the NBA Finals in June.
Let us know in the comments if you think Love is frustrated with his current role on the team or if this loss should be taken with a grain of salt – like the King did. Kevin fished with just three points.
