Klay Thompson Sets New Career High of 41 Points

This is the guy Golden State wouldn’t trade for Kevin Love!

48 hours ago, the Golden State Warriors made it apparent that they were in confident in the greatest shooting backcourt of all time inking Klay Thompson to a hefty 4-Year, $70 million extension. Last night, the team held their home opener against Pacific division rival, the Los Angeles Lakers. While the Lakers were looking for their first win of the season, not even 28 points from Kobe Bryant alone could save them from falling to 0-4.

The wrath of splash brother Klay was well in-tact last night and the Mamba made sure he wasn’t last night’s victim guarding Harrison Barnes most of the game. Over the summer, there we trade rumors of the Minnesota Timberwolves trying to part ways with Kevin Love in exchange for Thompson, but Stephen Curry publicly said there was no way he would stand by a trade at the expense of his backcourt cohort. Klay assured he was worth every penny last night (for the time being), scoring a career high 41 points. While he shot 14-18 from the field, including netting 8-9 free throws – the more impressive stat of the night was his 5-7 percentage from long-range.

In total, the splash brothers combined for 72 points, 17 more than the entire team combined and are looking to make an early serge into gaining home court positioning for their first deep playoff run.
