Kobe Bryant Turns Back the Clock to Posterize Clint Capela

Kobe Bryant Jams on Clint Capela!

Following the Black Mamba’s official announcement a few weeks ago to leave the NBA, he’s surprisingly been playing better than many thought he was capable of. While we’ve thought his poor play came from just being able to shoot only a few weeks prior to training camp, Kobe Bryant is still showing signs of his ability to contribute at an elite level – sometimes.

That was evident Thursday night, when the Houston Rockets were in town to visit the Los Angeles Lakers for another rivalry game. Kobe managed to produce a solid 22 point game, shooting 9-16 from the floor, but his teammates didn’t provide that same positive play.

Midway through the third quarter, when the Lakeshow were trying to make their run, Kobe elevated in traffic against Rockets defenders – resulting in Clint Capela being put on his first poster.

The entire Staples Center arena rose to their feet in awe, including former teammate Dwight Howard on the bench even smiling at the play himself. Houston would eventually win the game, but the purple and gold fans left the stadium, with at least one highlight from the night.

FINAL: HOU 107 | LAL 87
