This year when NBA All-Star weekend takes place in New Orleans a familiar face will be missing from action. That is the face of Los Angles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant, who the team revealed last night will miss at least three more weeks of action and the All-Star game. Despite his injury and only playing in six games this season, Kobe was voted as a starter in the All-Star game by fans. The Western conference coaches will now need to replace him in the starting roster and could do so by plugging in either Chris Paul or James Harden.
The Lakers revealed that they will reevaluate Kobe in three weeks before he can come back on the court, but truthfully this season may already be a loss for him and the team. They are well out of the race in the West and at this point might want to just consider preparing for the loaded draft this Summer. Though if you know Kobe Bryant you know that giving up isn’t in his vocabulary and he will do everything it takes to get back on the court ASAP.
Stay tuned for more details on this story in the coming weeks, and check back tomorrow for the full release of the NBA All-Star lineups.
