When the NBA season kicks off for the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night, Kobe Bryant will officially set the record for most seasons with one franchise in the history of the league. He will be entering his 20th season with the purple and gold, something unheard of nowadays.
Before the Lakers year gets underway, Kobe sat down with the NBA to talk about his career, from the ups and the downs and how he feels suiting up once again. He grew up being a Lakers fan, so for him to dedicate his entire life to the team is an accomplishment to him. He said the injuries have been a big test for him and a mountain to have climbed but he’s excited for what’s on deck with the Lakers this season.
Check out what more he had to say, including passing up Michael Jordan on the all-time scoring list and what it meant for Byron Scott to be there when he did it.
