Kyle Lowry Clarifies Post-Game LeBron James Comments

From today’s shoot-around in Ohio

Although the Cleveland Cavaliers only fished one game ahead of the Toronto Raptors for first place in the Eastern Conference, both teams have looked completely different. While LeBron James and his boys are yet to lose in the post-season this year, the Raptors have struggled – with back-to-back game 7’s against the Indiana Pacers and just Sunday sending the Miami Heat home.

With fatigue obviously set to catch up to them at some point throughout the series, Kyle Lowry addressed the upcoming E.C.F. series over the weekend with ESPN reporter Doris Burke, saying “LeBron is probably one of the best players in the league besides Stephen Curry.”

Well, this obviously caused an uproar on social media and behind-the-scenes (we’re assuming), because the all-star player went out of his way to clarify he wasn’t throwing shade at James.

Kyle said, “I would never throw any shade on one of the greatest players in history of basketball. I would never do that. Some people will take it for too much. LeBron is LeBron James. He’ll probably be one of the top three players of all-time when he retires.”

The King was even asked about the comments, and he said it didn’t bother him, but you couldn’t definitely see some type of motivation he had in his eyes with reporters. Take a look at the original post-game interview below, after watching Lowry’s interview with reporters a few hours ago.

Game one of the Eastern Conference Finals goes down tonight at 8:30pm ET on ESPN.
