No LeBron? No problem
In a game where LeBron James was sidelined with a sprained right wrist and the Cleveland Cavaliers have only been 1-8 without the king in the lineup, somebody stepped up to the plate and it happened in the biggest way imaginable. Career highs, franchise records and NBA history was made at Quicken Loans Arena by way of Kyrie Irving and his performance against the visiting Portland Trailblazers.
After starting the game 0-7, Kyrie managed to go lights out for the rest of the game, hitting 11 triples, shattering his career high in points scored and even hitting the go-ahead three-pointer to ultimately win the game for the Cavs. It was his best game ever.
Whether it was a step-back three, from the corner, catch-and-shoot, from way downtown, in transition, driving to the basket, and-one; Kyrie was in the zone and nothing stopped him.
The other player in the Cavs “Big 3,” Kevin Love, didn’t have such a good night, only scoring 10 points on 3-15 shooting. The slump for him continues.
