LaMarcus Aldridge Begins 2015 NBA Free Agency Frenzy with Listing Portland Home for Sale

The future successor to Tim Duncan?

Approaching the age of 30, it’s now or never for LaMarcus Aldridge to win an NBA Championship and that unfortunately could mean him leaving his beloved Portland Trail Blazers. Throughout nine years with the team, Aldridge has only advanced past the first round one time in a losing effort last year to the World Champion San Antonio Spurs. Blazers correspondent and writer, Amy Schwartz, sparked a twitter frenzy last night when she reported the superstar had officially listed his Portland home on the local open market for a little over $1 million.

His current team still needs various pieces alongside himself and Damian Lillard (Brandon Roy’s finally off the payroll) to jump in the conversation with the other elites out west, Aldridge has been rumored and linked recently the San Antonio Spurs – which he is still a native of the Texas area, currently spending his off-season in the state.

While the city of Portland has fully embraced Aldridge as their hero over the last decade, LaMarcus should think about his legacy approaching the latter half of his career. The Blazers, who still own his Bird Rights, will have the ability to offer him the most money at five years – which is something their competitors wouldn’t be able to.
