The Star power-forward will be out of action until March
Monday night, Portland Trail Blazers were looking to end a losing streak home at the Moda Center against Demarcus Cousins and the Sacramento Kings. During the second quarter of their eventual victory, Aldridge would leave the game holding his game and would not return to play. After two MRIs, the team announced the three-time NBA All-Star had a radial collateral ligament tear in his left thumb.
He’s now set to officially undergo surgery Friday morning and could be out 6-8 weeks. Portland currently holds the second overall record in a tough Western Conference at 31-12, but could lose substantial ground in the standings and the possibility of falling below the 8th seed. The Blazers will look to their front court players of Chris Kaman, Thomas Robinson and Dorell Wright among others to provide the obvious void of contributions.
