Lance Stephenson Drains Game-Winner in Double OT

Bank shot for the win!

Lance Stephenson is having the time of his life out in Charlotte, bringing a new spark to the young Hornets squad. Today marked a few accomplishments in the uniform, one of which was his first 3-pointer of the year. Coincidentally, that came with 2.2 seconds left in double overtime against the Atlanta Hawks to give the Hornets the win. After ending the game with 17 points and 13 rebounds, he also clocked in his first double double of the season.

The Hawks had a few chances to win the game, but squandered opportunities. Paul Millsap missed a shot in regulation that could have put them on top, while Kyle Korver committed the offensive foul that turned the ball over and gave Stephenson the chance to seal it on the ensuing possession.

Born Ready ran and stood on top of the scorers table after banking that shot, greeting teammates who raced over to him after the incredible play. The Hornets are now 3-3 for the season.
