LeBron James Reacts to Another Close Loss for Lakers, Patience Is Running Dry

Don’t be fooled by the 2-5 record by the Los Angeles Lakers. Though on paper they’re failing, they have been involved in some close games to start the season. Defensive lapses and offensive mistakes have cost them towards the stretch in games that should have been wins.

Last night was no different.

Against the Minnesota Timberwolves, a bad shot, some turnovers and not defending Jimmy Butler when he hit a clutch three at the end cost them the win.

After the game, LeBron James spoke on what happened and he said something interesting, “You probably don’t want to be around me when my patience runs out.”

It’s interesting because he was a factor in the loss. Also, because he should have known the team wasn’t going to be winning out of the gate. We acknowledge he’s not happy losing, but these growing pains is something he should expect. But how much patience does he still have left in the tank?

Hopefully the Lakers don’t get desperate and gut their young core to trade for an All-Star at this point. It’s not like they haven’t been in games against good teams. They have been right there. They just need to learn and grow.
