There have been more storylines surrounding the Cleveland Cavaliers this season than any other team in the NBA. Trading Kyrie Irving, getting rid of David Griffin, trading Isaiah Thomas at the deadline, getting the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, barely escaping past the Indiana Pacers in the first round, the supporting cast around LeBron James, pushing the young Boston Celtics team to seven games and beating them on their home floor for the first time the entire playoffs, sweeping the Toronto Raptors, and more.
King James sat down with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols to talk about some of these things and he was very honest in his answers about some of these topics.
Concerning Dan Gilbert, he says they have a working relationship with him, but everything he does is for the city of Cleveland and the bigger picture. He also speaks on not wanting to trade Kyrie Irving and making a call to management beforehand to veto their decision, yet it didn’t work. He also spoke about that point on the season where the thought that the Cavs would not make the playoffs creeped into his mentality. But he tried to make the most of the situation and took every game at a time. But if you asked him if he would be in the NBA Finals in January, he would have been shocked.
Listen to what King James had to say about this and more in the video above.
