Going into the game at different sides of the table, Liverpool were able to edge a resilient Swansea in an incredible 4-3 battle. After earning a draw against Napoli on Thursday, the Welsh side faced a tough start as Sturridge was able to get on the end of a through ball from Sterling, taking the ball around the keeper and calmly slotting into the net during the third minute. A little more than 15 minutes later, Henderson found space on the edge of the area and managed to hit a stunning shot towards the back of the goal. However, Swansea refused to let Liverpool take over the game, as former red Jonjo Shelvey replied by curling a screamer past Mignolet. Not long after, Bony managed to get on the end of Guzman’s free-kick to make the scoreline 2-2. With 10 minutes to go until half time, Sturridge grabbed his second by powerfully heading the ball past Vorm, after getting on the end of a cross from Suarez.

Several minutes after the restart, Swansea were given a penalty after Skrtel took down Bony in the area, and the same player managed to slot the ball into the bottom corner from the spot kick. Despite many other chances during the game, the winner arrived courtesy of Henderson after following up a shot from Suarez that rebounded off the keeper, making the final scoreline 4-3.

Liverpool sit in fourth just four points off Chelsea at the top of the table, while Swansea remain in 12th and four points above the relegation zone.
