LSU, Alabama Top Coaches’ Pre-Season Poll

The SEC, Who’s Won The Past 6 BCS Titles, Continue Dominance With 5 Teams In The Top 10.

Thursday, the USA Today Coaches’ Poll released with usual cast of SEC teams in the leader-boards but to some surprise, the USC Trojans who were heavily discussed to land the no. 1 ranking for the coaches poll, fell to the no. 3 spot behind both LSU and Alabama. The Tigers received fewer votes than both teams but managed to land more total points in the poll marking this the first time since 1991 that a no. 1 team in the coaches poll had less votes than it’s runner up.

As most of you are saying “It’s only a coaches poll” but it still plays a significant roll in the BCS formula that will only be around for two more season, so we have to respect the poll until then.

The 2012 college football season is scheduled to start 4 weeks from now on August 30th.
