Magic Johnson Interview With Conan O’Brien

Magic Johnson was the next guest to Conan O’Brien’s late night show on TBS. In the conversation, Conan brought up the current state of the Los Angeles Lakers who were fresh off their embarrassing 18-point blown lead loss to John Wall and Washington Wizards Friday night at Staples Center.

O’Brien spoke on Magic Johnson leaving the team after their 2010 championship citing M.J. saw the future before the team collapsed the past 3 seasons. Magic went on to discuss the team only has 11 more games left in the regular season as he feel the team hasn’t gelled yet as a unit and could see them losing again in the first round this year.

Johnson closed out the interview however stating if the team can overcome their current 3-game losing streak with talent from the likes of hall of famers Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash with the front-court tandem of Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol and cites the entire team as the blame. He feels they have the talent to beat anybody but it’s up to them to carry out the job on the court. With the Lakers only 1 game ahead of the 9th place Utah Jazz, the last 3 weeks of the NBA season should be interesting to say the least.
