We’re sure some of you reading this probably don’t even remember watching the great Magic Johnson step on the court for the Los Angeles Lakers, but the man had a great career. He wasn’t really the trash talking type, but on his visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he talked about the one time he did talk trash and it happened against Michael Jordan.
Off top, you know that story had to end badly and it turns out it did.
During a Dream Team practice (East players played West players), Magic’s squad was up 12-2 and he finally got the courage to talk a little smack to your royal airness. By then it was on. Michael’s eyes lit up and he put on a clinic, hitting several threes and bring the Eastern team back singlehandedly. Then Magic said he witnessed one of the greatest shots ever by anyone, when Jordan went up against David Robinson and 360 dunked it after he came down from the potential block. It was never caught on tape.
Magic also discussed a little bit about playing basketball with Prince, opening up his theater for him at 2am with a bus full of people in pajamas and his WNBA team.
