With the winner of the Premier League going down to the final day, Man City were able to beat West Ham 2-0 at home to secure their second league title of the new era. Thanks to goals from Nasri and Kompany in both the first and second half, City pushed even further past the needed one point to provide Pellegrini’s side with the trophy. Despite that, goals from Agger and Sturridge were secured for Liverpool to provide them with a 2-1 victory over Newcastle, after going 1-0 down due to an own goal from Skrtel during the 20th minute.
Man City end the season on 86 points and a solid goal difference of 65, while Liverpool settle for runners up on 84 points and a goal difference of 51.
