Man Utd have confirmed the signing of Ángel Di María from Real Madrid on a five-year deal, calculating a British record transfer fee. The Argentine player completed his medical earlier today as Van Gaal’s latest appointment, who joins the Premier League for £59.7m ($99m) after spending four years in La Liga, and becomes the most expensive player since Torres signed for Chelsea in 2011. The winger scored 36 goals in 190 appearances for Madrid, winning the likes of the Champions League, La Liga, Super Cup, Copa del Rey and more. United take on MK Dons in the Capital One Cup tonight, but Di María is likely to play his first game at Burnley on Saturday.
