Is this really the final fight?
After initially planning his final fight for the spring 2016 time-frame last fall, Manny Pacquiao now has a change of the heart. The Philippines fighter will be stepping into ring for a third fight against Timothy Bradley Jr. – according to his promoter, Bob Arum.
Both fighters have a 1 win-loss record against each other, which the rubber match between the two is officially set for April 9th at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. If you remember, Bradley was undefeated prior to his loss to Manny last year, during their initial rematch.
Pacman will now be looking to regain his WBO welterweight title in the bout, which he had to forfeit last year before his unanimous decision loss to Floyd Mayweather, Jr. last May.
Just last week, Manny revealed that his surgically repaired shoulder was 100 percent, which Top Rank decided to immediately move ahead with the announcement today.
Unfortunately, we’re not that intrigued for the match, due to it being unnecessary; but we’re at least relieved that Amir Khan will definitely fight the winner. Although we’d like to see Terence Crawford in the mix, he’ll likely to have wait another year, before having a major pay-per-view outing.
