Jeff Van Guny & ABC were speechless
With the Los Angeles Lakers drama overshadowing the final weeks of Kobe Bryant’s last games, as well as the Golden State Warriors pursuit of 73 games, Mark Jackson used this opportunity to finally publicly call out his former assistant coach, Darren Erman. In 2014, the Warriors fired Erman from Jackson’s coaching staff after a violation of company policy, for reportedly recording conversations between Golden State coaches and players – without their consent.
During the early stages of the fourth quarter between the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets game on Sunday afternoon, Mark discussed how this situation wasn’t the first, but hopefully would be the last after social media backlash at D’Angelo Russell.
He went to say, “It’s absolutely inexcusable what Russell did. I like the fact that he owned it. The good news for him is, he very well one day could be an associate head coach in this league.” Jeff Van Gundy was caught by surprise and didn’t know what to do except laugh at the ordeal his long-time friend endured in the Bay Area a few years ago.
