Matt Forte Agrees To A Deal With the New York Jets

The Matt Forte era as a Chicago Bear ended with an injury last season, but the New York Jets have looked past that and decided to give one of the best free agent running backs available a go for next season. Forte will be joining former teammate Brandon Marshall in New York, replacing the departed Chris Ivory, who went to Jacksonville on a deal with the Jaguars.

The Bears decided to part ways with the 30-year old because of his age and injury prone status, after Jeremy Langford seemed to carry the backfield in his absence.

In eight seasons in Chicago, Forte only trails Hal of Fame legend Walter Payton as one of the most productive running backs in franchise history, providing a good ground game, as well (and more importantly) as a threat in the backfield as a receiver.

Details of his contract have not yet been revealed.
