When does anyone bring up Maurice Speights or Leandro Barbosa when talking about this incredible Golden State Warriors season that might break the Chicago Bulls record all-time record? Don’t worry, we’ll wait.
The two got to share a little of that NBA history 47-game home winning streak glory tonight at Oracle Arena, thanks to a hail mary pass to end the third quarter. But you know, that came after Steph Curry launched a deep ball of his own: a half court shot to go into halftime.
Either way, with 1.6 seconds, Speights channeled his inner Aaron Rodgers with time running out. He threw a deep ball to a sprinting Barbosa, who wove in and out of the middle, in between defenders and caught the pass for the score. It was a thing of beauty.
And just as entertaining, Andre Iguodala’s semi-reaction immediately following. It was almost like what Andrew Bogut did when Steph drained that three the other day.
Curry ended the game with a quiet 12 points, while both Barbosa and Speights scored more than him (16 and 13 points, respectively). Klay Thompson led all Warriors scorers with 23 points.
And Golden State is now 57-6.
