Will he be picked over Towns or Okafor?
The consensus around the basketball world ahead of the upcoming NBA Draft is that Karl Anthony-Towns and Jahlil Okafor will go No. 1 and No. 2, but there has been talk that the Los Angeles Lakers might snag a point guard instead of who falls in their lap with the second pick. At the top of the guards is Emmanuel Mudiay and D’Angelo Russell, both of which could change the backcourt for any squad with their strengths.
Russell is considered the better pick among the two, after displaying his talents at Ohio State his freshman season.
The NBA caught up with him to see where he’s at leading up the draft, how he adapted to college life from high school and what his expectations are as he becomes a Top 5 pick in the league. He looks forward to competing to Steph Curry and LeBron James at the next level.
