Mexico are one step closer to coming out of Group A.
Jorge Campos is chilling in retired Mexican pastures at this point, but the spirit of his goalkeeping magic was living inside Guillermo Ochoa today. The Mexican goalie had six saves in the day, most coming from point blank range from Brazilian strikers.
The Mexico vs. Brazil matchup ended in a 0-0 tie, but there were plenty of shots from both sides, still keeping the excitement levels on 10000%. Things were rather quiet in the first half, with the Brazil defense keeping Mexico afar and attacking when they got the opportunity. Ochoa blocked a few shots, but things would turn up later.
It was a different story in the second half of the game.

Mexico came out swinging, attacking as much as they could and overpowering a few shots that came real close to the top of the goal post. Júlio César even had to deflect a few shots that looked good. Unfortunately, none of the attempts went in, although a number of them could have easily changed the game.
By the time the clock was almost hit the 90th minute, Brazil went on the offensive, but not without meeting the Wall of Ochoa.
With Neymar Jr. trying to come out as the hero of the game, even his skills were stopped short at the hands of Guillermo Ochoa. The closest might have come from a header from Thiago Silva, which was quickly put to rest at the hands of the Mexican keeper. It really seemed like nothing could get past him as a human wall.
The score might have ended in a tie, but it was still an exciting game.
The tie gives each team one point in Group A, as both battle for supremacy over Cameroon and Croatia. Brazil still leads thanks to a one goal margin, with matches between Brazil vs. Cameroon and Mexico vs. Croatia coming on Monday.
