Michael Carter-Williams & Victor Oladipo Score Historic Triple Doubles In 2OT Thriller

NBA rookies were out on the court making history tonight. Michael Carter-Williams and Victor Oladipo were the first pair of rookies to both score tripple doubles for their respective teams in the same game for the first time in NBA history.

Carter-Williams ended the game with 27 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for the Sixers, while Oladipo had 26 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the Magic.

The double overtime thriller had a total of 23 lead changes and the Magic were carried in part by Arron Afflalo, thanks to a career-high 43 points in the losing effort. Glen Davis also provided a spark for Orlando, scoring 33 points and helping rally the team into overtime. Ultimately it wasn’t enough because of the sharp play of Thaddeus Young and Evan Turner for the 76ers, who had 25 and 24 points respectively.
