Staying in Northern California, swapping jerseys
The San Francisco 49ers have been losing players (and a head coach) left and right this off-season and now there’s another to add to the list. Michael Crabtree is switching to residencies across the bay and headed to Oakland, after reaching terms with the Raiders on a 1-year deal. The deal is worth a reported $3 million, with $2 million in incentives.
Oakland is looking to build up their wide receiver weapons for second year quarterback Derek Carr this coming season, but after losing out on Randall Cobb and Jeremy Maclin in free agency, the team will now have to look towards the draft and Crabtree for help.
Although his productivity decreased last year following an Achilles injury in 2013, Crabtree might still have gas left in the tank with the right system and options. His numbers took a decline, but part of it could have been thanks to the turmoil the team was going through the entire year and some nagging foot injuries that hindered his play.
It's official.. I'm a Raider
