Westcrook the new killer version of MJ?

Last month, during the introduction of the Air Jordan XXX1, His Royal Airness was present in Las Vegas to help premiere his brand’s latest major release. After Jumpman showcased a highlight reel, featuring its main endorser, Russell Westbrook, Michael Jordan did something that only a handful of players are him have received – career comparison praise.

Mike went to say, “Thirty years ago, that’s me. The attitude, trying to prove myself, showing so much passion for the game of basketball. You see it in his play. You can tell he loves the game.”

When asked about props for Jordan, Westbrook was stunned in disbelief for receiving a co-sign from the GOAT. Russell would say, “That’s crazy! I really don’t know what to say. To have the best player who ever played the game to say that about you as a player and as a person is something that is going to keep me striving.” After inking his new three-year deal to stay in OKC at least until the summer of 2018, it’s safe to say that he’ll use this as added motivation for a long season ahead.
