New York. New Beginning. New Number.
After weeks of debating which number to wear for the New York Jets this upcoming season, Mike Vick has apparently decided on the number 8. He gave fans some insight into his decision making process by showing graphics of him wearing the numbers 1, 3, 5, and 8 on Instagram, all of which have been deleted since making his final choice. It will be good to see Mike Vick back on the field assuming he can beat out young Geno Smith for the starting nod. Hopefully he can duplicate the success of another left handed mobile quarterback great Steve Young while sharing the number.
The Jets square off against the Eagles, his former team and ex-Jet Mark Sanchez new home, in the last preseason game before taking on the Raiders opening weekend.
UPDATE: Michael Vick has changed his mind and decided to wear #1 instead of #8!
