The Philadelphia Eagles have had an interesting off-season to say the least, highlighted by the firing of Andy Reid, hiring of former Oregon head coach Chip Kelly, and the controversy around Riley Cooper. Michael Vick has been under intense pressure this year to stay healthy and lead the Eagles to playoff berth for the first time in three years.
His job was on the line in the media’s eyes, but Chip Kelly wanted Vick to be his only quarterback when their season kicked off. The Eagles open tonight against the Washington Redskins, who have a QB of their own fresh from injury in the big Monday Night Football division rivalry meeting.
In the interview, Vick sits down with Lisa Salters of ESPN to talk about the Eagles new offense, which has been one of the most intriguing stories of the off-season. Vick says the new system is faster than what he’s expected, but is in love with it due to Chip Kelly letting him have freedom. After the jump, you can watch Vick talking about the adversity he’s dealt with this off-season, as well as his vision for the Eagles season starting tonight.
