Sources: Mike Conley has fracture in his vertebrae
Over the summer, Mike Conley received the biggest contract in the NBA history, when the Memphis Grizzlies inked him to a max deal worth upwards of $153 million.
So far, this season, the Grizzlies have had a respectable 11-7 record, even without Chandler Parsons in the lineup and Zach Randolph taking a personal leave this month.
However, team now faces the worst news they could anticipated all year – learning their star player has suffered a traverse process fracture in his vertebrae. At the moment, Memphis is ruling Mike out indefinitely and will reevaluate his back in a month. He’s expected to miss in a minimal of six weeks, which now means he won’t be back on the court until mid-January 2017 at the earliest.
