Last Thursday, Pittsburgh Steelers were in a desperate late rally during a big AFC North division rivalry game against the Baltimore Ravens. Jacoby Jones of the Ravens was in the process of returning TD, but Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin hindered his running on the field being “out of position” on the field causing Jones to slowdown and not score. Tuesday afternoon, Tomlin held a press conference to reveal his of the story saying,

“As I stated yesterday, I take full responsibility for my actions, and I apologize for causing negative attention to the Pittsburgh Steelers organization. I accept the penalty that I received. I will no longer address this issue as I am preparing for an important game this Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.”

Moments ago today, the NFL laid the hammer down fining Tomlin a hefty $100,000 fine with the possibility of the Steelers losing picks in next year’s NFL Draft. The NFL released a statement earlier today revealing they plan to consider modification or forfeiture, pending the final order of the 2014 NFL draft schedule. Neither Pittsburgh or Tomlin are worried about the fine, but more about the team’s draft choices; which should be something on their minds until May.
