Baseball has all sorts of issues right now, from the use of illegal enhancing substances to falling popularity year after year. Today though they are moving to correct one of the dumbest parts of the game. Yes they are finally expanding the use of instant replay. So far it is not known which types of plays will be reviewable, but for the first time ever managers will be able to call for video challenges like in the NFL.
Joe Torre, who is in charge of the replay committee for MLB, said after the announcement that 89% of calls made incorrectly in the sport will now be reviewable. Though we are just guessing, it is pretty safe to say that everything will be fair game for review other than calling balls & strikes. Whatever it is we are just happy to see baseball trying to improve the game in anyway possible for the fans and the players. Also, maybe something like this will never happen again (at least we hope).
