The NFL season is officially wrapping up and not only does tonight’s Falcons and 49ers game have playoff implications, but it also marks the final regular season home game for the 49ers in Candlestick Park. San Francisco can clinch a playoff berth tonight in the highly contested NFC.
Standing in their way are the lowly Atlanta Falcons, and while they’ve been very disappointing this year, they do have the talent to make this one interesting. If the Falcons were able to pull of the upset tonight, the 49ers would have to go to Arizona next Sunday and play the Cardinals for the final spot in the NFC. We can rest assure that San Francisco doesn’t want that possibility, so expect them to try and knock out the Falcons early.
