It saddens us that a 10 win team in the NFL may not make the playoffs, which could very well happen to the Arizona Cardinals. The birds play a home finale today against their NFC West division rival San Francisco 49ers, who are short rest following their final victory at Candlestick Park over the Atlanta Falcons on Monday. We’re picking San Francisco today but wouldn’t be shocked at a Cardinals upset solely being at home.
Both teams can stop the run game and get to the quarterback at key points in the game, but the 49ers offense has us picking them today in the “safe” pick. Roger Goodell and the NFL should seriously consider a different playoff format with struggle .500 teams from the NFC East and North making the playoffs just on divisional victories.
