UPDATE: Lions Defeat Redskins 27-20

Two NFC teams that are on the outside of being considered “elite” are the Detroit Lions and the Washington Redskins. Robert Griffin II and his Skins still remain winless, but he’s steadily getting confidence back in his knee. Today we expect their run game to be a big factor in this game with Alfred Morris coming of age for the season this week taking advantage of their offensive advantage at the line.

But the winner of the game we’re picking is the Detroit Lions, largely due to the Redskins having the worst defense in the NFL giving up an average of 200 yards a game. Reggie Bush had his left knee injured in the Lions loss to Arizona Sunday, which they’ve been cautious with his practice this year.

Historically, the Lions have not done well on the road in the Washington, but not even Matthew Stafford’s passes being dropped by receivers and backs today will lose them the game with skins defense being that awful. If RG3 comes out gunning, the skins will have a legitimate shot at winning the game; but if not, they could be headed to 0-3.
