Even with Cam Newton injuring himself in a car accident two weeks ago, the Carolina Panthers have surged this December to take the number one seed in the AFC South. While the division is undoubtedly the worst in the entire NFL, they play in a winner-goes home before wild-card weekend meeting today against the Atlanta Falcons.
The dirty birds are fresh from their big road victory against the New Orleans Saints and will once again rely on their defense to win the division. While the team may finish the season at 7-9, Atlanta can potentially have a home playoff game next week and be the first team to make the post-season with a losing record undefeated against division rivals.
