San Francisco at Arizona
Time: 4:05 PM (ET)
Network: FOX
We really wish this San Francisco 49ers and Arizona Cardinals game was on a Thursday Night or a 1pm afternoon, due to the obvious elephant in the room and Super Bowl rematch airing at the same time of this meeting. The AFC West for the last 2 seasons has been primed as the best overall division in the NFL, and the meeting tonight at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ could very well be one of the best all season.
San Francisco’s fresh off their new stadium and home opener loss last Sunday night against the Chicago Bears, where they only scored a FG for the entire 2nd half. The game essentially in our opinion comes down to whether Vernon Davis will play at elite level. Colin Kaepernick is a significantly different player without his Vernon on the field and a knee injury could potentially have them falling into an early 1-2 hole.
Cardinals QB, Carson Palmer is being listed as questionable for today’s action due to a strained shoulder, which means they’ll have veteran Drew Stanton taking the reins today as QB. In order for the 49ers to win today, they’ll have to play phenomenal defense against the Cards and put intense presser on the opposing back-up QB.
UPDATE: Cardinals 23 | 49ers 14
