NBA Considers Heat & Nets Nickname Player Jerseys

According to reports from the AP, the NBA plans on putting nicknames on the backs of jerseys for two Heat & Nets games this season. That’s correct, for two games this year you will tune into a basketball game and see the likes of “King James,” “The Big Ticket,” “The Truth,” and “Velociraptor” on the back of jerseys. This is really one step away from an And-1 game in our eyes, but hey maybe it will work. Maybe David Stern (aka Master Troll) is just trying to fuck with the fans one last time before he retires this winter.

Whatever the case may be, this has the potential to be pretty hilarious. What would make it even funnier is if they let the fans vote on what would appear on the back of some players jerseys. The possibilities for Chris Bosh & Joe Johnson would be worth it all. What do you think of this bold move by the NBA? Will it actually work?
