Game 6 | San Antonio Spurs at Miami Heat at 9pm ET on ABC | Spurs Lead 3-2

The NBA season is nearing its conclusion, as the Spurs have pushed the Heat to brink of elimination with a potential series clincher win tonight.

Stealing game 1 in Miami earlier in the series, the Spurs gained home-court advantage and won two games in San Antonio to take a comfortable 3-2 series lead to South Beach, with two chances left for taking the series.

With all of the elite names in the finals, you would think the NBA Finals MVP would be LeBron, Parker or Duncan; but role-player Danny Green has been the story of June basketball breaking Ray Allen’s NBA Finals record for most three-pointers ever made, shooting 47% from the field averaging 18 points game in the series.

Game 7 | San Antonio Spurs at Miami Heat at 9pm ET on ABC

In game 3, the Spurs annihilated the Heat in a 36-point blowout, but Miami responded back in game 4 to win a double-digit lead to even the series ensuring one more home game at the least. With their backs on the wall to avoid heading back to South Beach down 3-2 in the series to the Heat, the Spurs responded back led by Manu Ginobili scoring 24 points (just a few shy of his past 4 games totals). He brought a must needed boosting in scoring to take reach within 1-game of winning their 5th title since 99’.

The Heat now back home have to focus on tonight to extend the series and avoid a 2011-like Finals conclusion against Dallas. The Spurs in our opinion are going to need another big game from their “Big 3” to finish the series tonight and capture their 4th title as a collective. Pressure’s obviously at an all-time high this year for the Miami Heat and particular LeBron James, who will need to be productive in the later stages of the game if it’s close. And by productive we don’t mean scoring, but more-so leading the team to victory in making key passes, getting big stops and other tangibles.

The role-players on Miami should get their confidence back playing in-front of the home crowd (mainly the back-court of Cole and Chalmers) to help the Bosh-Wade-Bron out with the scoring load. San Antonio can cement their legacy officially as a dynasty tonight with Tim Duncan gaining his 5th NBA title, which some might even question whether Kobe was the best player of the last generation of players following Jordan.

Even if you dislike both teams, any series that extends to 6 games and maybe 7 is always good basketball for the league. Tune in tonight for a great game!
